this might even be a "trivial" bug, as it would be trivial to solve i assume. my suggestion is to change the current setting of having two separate keyboard-shortcuts to mark and unmark messages by a single toggle shortcut. i'm not sure i can imagine a usecase where you'd actually have a huge advantage with having the two options to having a simple toggle. but in case this has a well thought-through rationale behind it, the two options could stay in the context-menu.
Created attachment 1337 [details] Implement toggle mail as read I took a shot at implementing this feature request. I started with a new action to toggle the mark as read flag on the selected mail message. I only did this action as it is personally useful for me. As this would be my first contribution to Claws Mail, I would hope for some feedback whether this is actually a wanted feature. Would it make sense to add similar actions for any of Mark/Ignore/Watch as well?
Personally speaking, I don't see the point of this at all.
I have a lot of mail that I scan the subjects and only open a few that interest me. Then I select the whole list and delete them en masse. Having a keyboard shortcut for "Mark as read" is important to me.

I was looking for an option to add a "toggle read/unread status" hotkey, apparently I'm not the only one. Currently it's not possible to assign the same hotkey to two actions (mark as read and mark as unread) and have it work depending on the message's read status. Would a new patch to address this be accepted? There seems to be a previous patch which wasn't, therefore I wanted to ask before spending time on this. Otherwise please close this as wontfix so it's clear this is outside of the featureset of claws-mail.
