STR: 1. Open a mail folder (not INBOX) containing a message with attachment EXPECTED There icon for attachment should appear left of the message to show that there is an attachment. ACTUAL The icon appears only after the message is clicked. After navigating to another folder and returning to the previous one the icon is still there. After restarting claws-mail the icon is gone again. In INBOX everything seems to work as expected. Testing with a Gmail account without synchronizing folders for offline use, configured as per http://www.claws-mail.org/faq/index.php/Using_Claws_with_Gmail

For the bugged behaviour described here there is a workaround – although it involves some extra work: just move whatever message (any message) from the actual folder to a different folder (any folder) and then put it back => now the attachment icon stays there permanently even after Claws Mail restart. I was forced to do that for all of my folders (and there are a lot) when I switched to Claws Mail and had to import all my messages and folders structure from Sylpheed. BTW this bug affects also the PGP signature icon. Cristi
As reported on the IRC channel by ursa, the necessary steps to reproduce (step 3 seems to hold the key): 1) delete all dotfiles from the mailbox 2) open claws *3*) mark all items as read in inbox without clicking the mail 4) close claws 5) open claws 6) open inbox 7) click the email 8) observe that attachment icon appears 9) close claws 10) reopen claws 11) observe attachment icon does not persist
Further observations: * it doesn't have to be the inbox * only the dot files in the test folder need to deleted * no more than one message in the folder must have an attachment
(In reply to Paul from comment #3) In fact, step 3 is irrelevant.
Facing the same issue (bug #3307, comment 16).
